"Breathtaking and Spiritual" best describes this 40 acre cliff top waterfront site on Fidalgo Island. Utilized in the summer by California-based owners, the first phase of the long-range master plan included siting and construction of a garage and guest cottage, and minor improvements to the existing house. A long, serpentine gravel lane winds through the forest and terminates at a two-story moss and fern covered stone. A handcrafted, eroding stone wall separates the gravel parking court and garage from the cottage. Cut granite wraps the cottage foundation and part of the chimney, melding into the new slate used on the interior of the fireplace. |
