Responding to the Owner's native home in Asia, the garden to evokes a tropical feel while responding to the modern architecture. A stained concrete wall provides privacy from the street while enclosing the entry courtyard. Water connects the entry with a large terrace that spills out onto the front garden. Other features include a stone play area, climbing structure, and a formal rose garden. Special materials include stained and sand-blasted concrete paving, granite pavers, precast concrete wall units and natural granite stones. Plantings were chosen to reflect the tropical theme and include ornamental grasses, magnolia, bamboo, and palm trees.
